We are thrilled to welcome Daniel Stadtmauer to the KLI!

Stadtmauer’s project- The Developmental Evolutionary Basis of Tissue Type- aims to develop a theory for the developmental-evolutionary concept of “tissue type”. He will examine the origins of quasi-autonomous tissue identity and its maintenance in evolution, the emergence of tissue-level properties through cell-to-cell interactions, the role of the tissue microenvironment and cellular niche construction in shaping tissue identity and homeostasis, and the process of tissue type innovation compared to cell type innovation.

Stadtmauer will be a writing-up fellow at the KLI until February 29th, 2024.
