How to Apply for Travel Grants for EASPLS 2020

Multiple travel grants are available thanks to the generous sponsorship of History and Philosophy of the Life Sciences, Biological Theory, and ISHPSSB.

To apply for a travel grant, please send

  • the submitted abstract
  • a short CV
  • a letter of motivation why you want to participate in the event

The deadline for applications is April 15, 2020. Applicants will be notified of decisions by late May 2020.

In addition, History and Philosophy of the Life Sciences as well as by Biological Theory also provide travel grants for participants of the EASPLS 2020. 
History and Philosophy of the Life Sciences sponsors 2 travel grants of EUR 500,- and
Biological Theory sponsors 1 travel grant of EUR 500,-.

6th European Advanced Seminar in the Philosophy of the Life Sciences (EASPLS 2020)

“Dealing with Complexity in the Life Sciences”

From Sep. 7 to Sep. 11, 2020 the KLI will host the 6th European Advanced School in the Philosophy of the Life Sciences. Young scholars (PhD students and early post-doctoral researchers) in the history, philosophy and social studies of the biological, biomedical, and environmental sciences are invited to apply.

Dates of event: September 7-11, 2020

5 KLI Writing-up Resident Fellowships in Interdisciplinary Sustainability Science 

KLI Writing-up Resident Fellowships are 6-months fellowships for late-stage PhD students. The fellowships offer financial support to PhD students who are finalising their thesis.  PhD candidates working in the interdisciplinary field of sustainability science or in the history, philosophy, and social studies thereof are invited to apply. 

Pre-selection Phase: January 30, 2020

Deadline for Full Application: February 29, 2020 

Expected starting date of the fellowship: September 2020 

Duration of the fellowship: 6 months
