Dr.Klaus M. Stiefel was born and raised in Austria, and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Vienna in 1998. In 2002 he received his doctorate in zoology from the University of Vienna and the Max Planck Institute for Brain Research in Frankfurt, Germany. Research stints at the Salk Institute, USA, OIST, Japan and the University of Western Sydney followed.

Klaus is currently based in the Philippines as an independent scientist, photographer, author & scuba instructor, and is also affiliated with the Neurolinx Institute based in La Jolla, CA, USA. He pursues commercial science projects with MyScienceAgents, also based in La Jolla.
