Sharon B. Minsuk

After modeling frog notochord morphogenesis in computer simulations with Prof. George Oster at the University of California, Berkeley, Sharon Minsuk turned her attention to laboratory studies of the evolution of development in real embryos. At Berkeley she studied the evolution of frog gastrulation, earning her PhD under Prof. Raymond Keller, and at Indiana University she studied the evolution of sea urchin inductive signaling and body plan patterning, with Prof. Rudolf Raff. She is now combining the two approaches, working to bring computer modeling to bear on the study of EvoDevo.
