Ladislav Kovac. PhD. (Charles University, Prague 1954), D. Sc. (Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences, Prague, 1982) Professor of Biochemistry, Comenius University, Bratislava, Slovakia. Following the Soviet occupation of Czechoslovakia in 1968, dismissed from the university, a clinical chemist at a psychiatric hospital (1971-1976) and a researcher in an institute of animal physiology (1977-1989). After the fall of communism, Minister of education of the Slovak Republic (1989-1990), Ambassador of Czechoslovakia to UNESCO (1990-1992). Visiting scientist at the KLI since March 1, 1997.
At the Comenius University, he is director of the Center of cognitive biology, Faculty of Sciences, and head of the research group on bioenergetics at the Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Sciences, Comenius University, Mlynska dolina, 842 15 Bratislava, Slovakia.
